A Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and assisting in diagnosing diseases. The role ensures accurate and timely reporting while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood, urine, stool, and other samples from patients
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Prepare samples and reagents for testing
- Record and verify test results accurately
- Maintain proper documentation and lab records
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the laboratory
- Report abnormal results to doctors or seniors immediately
- Assist in quality control and calibration procedures
Skills & Requirements:
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
- Basic computer knowledge for data entry and reports
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in shifts
Educational Qualification:
- DMLT / BMLT (Diploma or Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology)
- Registration with relevant medical council (if applicable)
